Position Summary
The Truck Driver is responsible for safely operating a 53 ft dry van to complete scheduled inventory transfers between our Dallas-area warehouse locations. This role plays a key part in maintaining efficient internal logistics, supporting inventory accuracy, and ensuring the timely movement of goods across facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a 53 ft dry van to transport inventory between company warehouses in the Dallas area.
- Follow established transfer schedules to ensure on-time delivery and pickup.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance.
- Secure loads properly and verify documentation for all inventory transfers.
- Maintain accurate logs, delivery records, and required DOT documentation.
- Communicate with warehouse teams to coordinate loading, unloading, and route timing.
- Report any mechanical issues, delays, or safety concerns promptly.
- Adhere to all company policies, safety standards, and DOT regulations.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL (Class A) with a clean driving record.
- Minimum 2 years of experience operating a 53 ft dry van or similar equipment.
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations and safe driving practices.
- Ability to perform basic vehicle inspections and identify maintenance needs.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Experience in warehouse or logistics environments preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit for extended periods while driving.
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs as needed during loading/unloading.
- Ability to climb in and out of the truck safely.
