About the Role
The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading all production operations on an assigned shift, ensuring performance across Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Employee Engagement. This role oversees production from mixing through packaging, driving efficiency, compliance, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily production activities from mixing through packaging to ensure adherence to formulas, specifications, and quality standards
- Build, lead, and develop high-performing teams across production lines
- Provide direction to Assistant Supervisors, Leads, and Schedulers on staffing, scheduling, safety, and performance
- Establish, maintain, and audit standard work using appropriate tools and resources
- Ensure proper staffing, role assignment, and availability of tools/resources for all team members
- Partner with HR to fill open positions with qualified talent in a timely manner
- Enforce all Safety, GMP, and Food Safety standards; take corrective action when needed
- Coordinate with QA, Sanitation, Safety, and Maintenance teams to support compliance and operations
- Own production scheduling awareness; proactively identify and mitigate risks related to changeovers, sanitation, and staffing
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation and production records
- Lead shift-to-shift communication to ensure continuity across operations
- Apply progressive discipline for performance and attendance issues
- Monitor equipment performance; support minor troubleshooting and coordinate maintenance as needed
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase line efficiency and reduce waste
- Foster a culture of respect, accountability, and teamwork
Qualifications
- 2–3 years of supervisory or management experience in a manufacturing environment
- Prior experience in food manufacturing required
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Strong communication skills (English required; bilingual is a plus)
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to train, coach, and develop teams
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and extended shifts
Salary : $65,000 - $85,000
