Graduate Assistants will gain practical experience in intercollegiate athletics while assisting various functional areas including administration, business operations, compliance, student-athlete services, facilities and event management, communications, marketing, development, equipment, sports performance, sports medicine, ticket operations, and other departmental units. Graduate Assistants are expected to demonstrate professionalism, initiative, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to supporting the mission and values of East Texas A&M University Athletics. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist with the daily operations of the assigned athletics department or functional area. Provide administrative support including correspondence, scheduling, data entry, filing, and record maintenance. Assist with planning, organizing, and executing departmental initiatives, projects, and special events. Support home athletic contests and championship events as assigned. Assist with student-athlete, coach, and departmental communications. Prepare reports, spreadsheets, presentations, and other departmental documents. Maintain accurate records while ensuring confidentiality of sensitive information. Collaborate with coaches, staff, campus partners, and external constituents to accomplish departmental goals. Assist with operational projects and process improvements. Ensure compliance with NCAA, conference, university, state, and departmental policies and procedures. Represent East Texas A&M University Athletics in a professional manner. Perform other duties as assigned. $13.33 Hour X 20 hours a week Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. Admission into an East Texas A&M University graduate program. Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent software. Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by athletic events. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in collegiate athletics as a student worker, intern, graduate assistant, or student-athlete. Experience in customer service, event management, leadership, business operations, communications, or other athletics-related functions. Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational and time management abilities. Attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain confidentiality. Strong customer service orientation. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a team environment. Physical Requirements Ability to sit or stand for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds. Ability to work evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays. Ability to perform duties in both office and athletic event environments. Learning Opportunities Graduate Assistants will gain valuable experience in NCAA Division I athletics administration while developing professional competencies in leadership, communication, event management, organizational operations, project management, collaboration, and higher education administration.
