Job Responsibilities The Graduate Assistant (Non-Teaching) serves as an Administrative Associate and Receptionist, providing professional front-office support and administrative assistance to the Department of Art Visual Communication faculty, staff, and students. This position serves as the primary point of contact for students, faculty, staff, and visitors while assisting with daily office operations, event coordination, records management, and special projects. The role requires strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills, as well as the ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in a university environment. This position is located in Dallas with the office open from 10:00am to 7:00pm. Duties and Responsibilities Greet and assist students, faculty, staff, and visitors. Answer, screen, and direct incoming phone calls and emails. Respond to routine inquiries and provide information regarding departmental services and programs. Maintain a welcoming and professional reception area. Provide administrative assistance to the Dean, department leadership, faculty, and staff. Schedule appointments, meetings, and conference room reservations. Prepare correspondence, reports, agendas, meeting minutes, and other office documents. Manage and maintain departmental records, files, and databases. Assist with data entry and recordkeeping activities. Process incoming and outgoing mail, packages, and deliveries. Manage and monitor office supplies and inventory. Assist with document preparation, copying, scanning, and filing. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements Must be a student currently enrolled in a graduate degree program at East Texas A&M University. Must maintain a GPA of at least 3.0 and be in good academic standing. Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, email, and scheduling tools). Preferred Qualifications Prior customer service experience. Prior administrative experience. Hours: Maximum of 20 hours a week Salary: $4000.00 per semester for full-time assistantship All positions are security-sensitive.
