This position assists students with educational planning, course selection, and navigating resources while fostering their academic, career, and personal development. A Presidential Proclamation issued on September 19, 2025, imposes a $100,000 fee on all new H‑1B petitions filed after September 21, 2025, and Texas A&M University–Central Texas will not pay this fee. Additionally, a moratorium issued by Governor Abbott on January 27, 2026, restricts the filing of new H‑1B petitions unless approved by the Texas Workforce Commission. Responsibilities: Provide academic advising based on industry best practices and student development theories, including but not limited to, educational planning, course selection, and registration aligned with students’ academic, career, and personal goals. Monitor academic progress and implement engagement and intervention strategies to support student retention and success. Participate in outreach programs, campaigns, and communication initiatives in support of institutional enrollment goals. Provide referrals to institutional resources and assistance based on student needs. Assist with navigating institutional processes. Maintain accurate student records and interaction notes. Utilize institutional tools and technology to support students efficiently and effectively. Maintain understanding of curriculum, course equivalencies, and career opportunities associated with assigned programs. Apply university, college, and/or program policies and procedures accurately and consistently. Assist with evaluation of course equivalencies as needed. Participate in professional development to remain current in the field. Perform related duties as required or deemed necessary to meet student and organizational goals. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience. Salary: $43,888 Hours: Monday - Friday; 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Nights and weekends as needed. Supervision of Others: This position generally does not supervise employees. Work Location: This is not a remote position.
