A Day in This Role
You arrive on first shift and start at a 5-axis vertical machining center, loading fixtures and dialing in work offsets. With Fanuc controls at your fingertips, you tweak a G-code routine, verify tool paths, and run a first-article. You check critical dimensions with micrometers and gauges, confirm GD&T features to the print, and log your results. Next, you pivot to a 3- or 4-axis VMC, set a positional indexer, and prepare a production run to keep the schedule on track. Throughout the day, you collaborate across a tight-knit team and coordinate directly with the shop President to ensure quality, throughput, and safety stay top of mind.
What You’ll Tackle
- Set up and run 3-, 4-, and 5-axis vertical CNC milling machines for first articles and production.
- Operate Fanuc controls; write and edit basic CNC programs (G- and M-code).
- Program and work with positional indexers to achieve complex orientations.
- Interpret blueprints; apply GD&T principles to meet feature and tolerance requirements.
- Use precision measurement tools and gauges to validate first-piece and in-process dimensions.
- Maintain accuracy, detail orientation, and a commitment to precision in a team-based environment.
What You Bring
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on CNC milling experience.
- Proven ability to perform setups, changeovers, and production runs with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Schedule & Pay
Full-time, 1st shift. Extremely competitive hourly rate, commensurate with experience.
