About the Role:
The Procurement Manager (also knowns as: Strategic Sourcing Manager or Supply Chain Manager) is responsible for leading purchasing operations and strategic sourcing initiatives across multiple manufacturing and fulfillment facilities. This role focuses on cost optimization, supplier relationship management, and sourcing strategy for nutraceutical ingredients, food-grade materials, packaging, and production supplies. The position plays a key role in driving cost savings, ensuring supply continuity, and maintaining compliance with cGMP and regulatory standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end procurement and strategic sourcing activities for raw materials, packaging, and production supplies across multiple locations
- Develop cost models, perform pricing analysis, and execute cost reduction initiatives to improve overall spend management
- Negotiate supplier contracts, pricing agreements, lead times, and terms with a focus on total cost of ownership and value optimization
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, driving supplier development, performance improvement, and long-term partnerships
- Establish supplier performance metrics, scorecards, and continuous improvement programs to enhance quality, delivery, and cost efficiency
- Source nutraceutical ingredients and food-grade materials in compliance with cGMP, FDA, and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance and Operations teams to support supplier qualification, audits, and compliance documentation
- Monitor inventory levels, demand planning, and material requirements planning to ensure uninterrupted production and supply continuity
- Identify supply chain risks and implement mitigation strategies to reduce disruptions and improve resilience
- Support new product development and product launches through sourcing strategies, supplier alignment, and cost planning
- Maintain accurate procurement data, supplier contracts, and ERP or MRP system integrity for reporting and forecasting
- Travel between facilities as needed to support procurement operations and supplier engagement
Qualifications:
- 5 plus years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain management within a manufacturing environment
- Strong expertise in cost analysis, pricing strategy, and cost reduction initiatives across multiple spend categories
- Proven experience in supplier development, supplier performance management, and vendor relationship management
- Experience sourcing nutraceutical ingredients, food-grade materials, or regulated raw materials preferred
- In-depth knowledge of cGMP standards, supplier qualification processes, and regulatory compliance requirements
- Demonstrated success negotiating contracts, managing supplier agreements, and optimizing supplier performance
- Experience supporting multi-site manufacturing or distributed supply chain operations
- Proficiency with ERP and MRP systems for procurement, inventory management, and demand planning
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making skills
- High level of ownership, accountability, and ability to operate in a fast-paced environment
Desired Qualifications:
- APICS certification such as CPIM or CSCP
- Experience conducting supplier audits and working within quality management systems
- Background in cost optimization, lean supply chain, or continuous improvement methodologies
- Experience supporting regulatory audits in highly regulated industries such as food, nutraceutical, or pharmaceutical manufacturing
- Familiarity with advanced sourcing strategies, category management, and supplier risk management frameworks
Salary : $80,000 - $95,000
