Brief Description

Job Title: Spa Attendant

Department: Resort Spa

Reports To: Spa Supervisor

Summary

Provides prompt and efficient service to guests by providing spa tours, distributing necessary amenities, replenishing supplies and maintaining cleanliness and neatness of all spa areas. Responsible for servicing guest’s needs and maintaining a full knowledge of the Spa facilities, products, and services.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Ensures that the salon is completely, professionally, and neatly maintained in accordance with the guidelines and standards of Talking Stick Resort & Spa.
• Greets all guests who enter the spa and displays knowledge of services available and the amenities offered.
• Demonstrates full knowledge of the spa’s facilities such as steam room, Jacuzzi, showers, location of lounges, and hours of operation and communicates these to guests.
• Conducts spa facility tours in a courteous, knowledgeable, and professional manner.
• Assists receptionist and service providers in a seamless transition of guests into and out of the spa and their services.
• Promptly notifies spa desk personnel of service upgrades and/or changes.
• Distributes robes and spa sandals to the guest.
• Assign lockers to guests, explain locker usage and replenishes lockers with a neatly folded robe and spa sandals.
• Machine washes slippers.
• Distributes and monitors current newspapers and magazines in guest lounge.
• Prepares, maintains and breakdown beverage and snack station.
• Maintain a high level of communication with room service in regards to guest orders.
• Assists in inventory control; replenishes supplies and products before they run out.
• Monitors and manages guest lounge, fitness center, steam room, sauna, hot tub, and shower areas for continued cleanliness and maintenance.
• Stocks robes and towels in accordance to display standards and par levels.
• Actively learns treatment products, their uses, and associated benefits.
• Reports any service glitches immediately.
• Assists guests with retail product selections and educate them on correct use.
• Reads log books, communications boards, memos daily and be responsible for information contained therein.
• Assists in training guest services to new employees.
• Communicates lost and found items to spa desk immediately.
• Assists in other areas of spa as needed, including the fitness center, reception and retail areas.
• Maintains cleanliness of designated areas as directed in accordance with established health and safety standards.
  
  

Education And/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; 1 year experience working in an upscale day spa or hotel resort spa required.

Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for prolonged periods, bend, lean and walk; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
