Commercial Roofing Sales Representative – Houston, TX
$70,000–$100,000 Base Commission
A well-established commercial roofing contractor is looking for an experienced Sales Representative to join its Houston team.
This is a true business development and relationship-driven sales role. We’re looking for someone who can get in front of the right people, understand what is happening with their roofs and facilities, and turn those relationships into long-term customers.
You’ll have the backing of an established commercial roofing operation, experienced field and service teams, and a company with the resources to deliver on what you sell.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Prospect for new commercial roofing customers through cold calling, email, networking, referrals and in-person outreach.
- Develop relationships with building owners, property managers, facility managers, general contractors, architects and other decision-makers.
- Set your own appointments and build a strong pipeline throughout the Houston market.
- Visit customer facilities and conduct roof inspections, measurements and field assessments.
- Identify opportunities for commercial roof replacement, repair, maintenance and service.
- Prepare proposals, estimates and presentations based on customer needs, drawings, specifications and field conditions.
- Follow opportunities from the first conversation through proposal, negotiation and close.
- Maintain relationships after the sale and continue developing repeat business and referrals.
- Work closely with service, estimating, operations and leadership to make sure customers are taken care of.
- Maintain accurate sales activity, customer information and follow-up.
What We’re Looking For
Commercial roofing experience is strongly preferred. You should understand the industry well enough to confidently walk a roof, speak with a customer about what you are seeing and work with the team to develop the right solution.
You’ll also need:
- Proven sales or business development experience.
- Strong prospecting and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to develop your own business rather than relying solely on incoming leads.
- Experience working with commercial property owners, facility managers, property managers or general contractors.
- Ability to read plans, specifications and scopes of work.
- Comfortable climbing ladders, walking commercial roofs and conducting field inspections.
- Strong organization and follow-through.
- Professional communication and presentation skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- OSHA 30 preferred.
- Estimating/takeoff experience is an asset.
Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary: $70,000–$100,000, based on experience commission
