Our client is a well established and dynamic consulting firm, working across a broad range of building projects. They are hiring for a talented Structural Engineer with project management experience, to join their Team in Edmonton.

THE ROLE

• Lead structural engineering design for buildings, taking projects from concept to construction drawings.
• Apply expertise in concrete, steel, masonry, and wood design, effectively communicating ideas to clients and team members.
• Develop structural conceptual designs and markups for buildings and other structures.
• Oversee production staff in preparing detailed working drawings, including foundations and structural components.
• Work with project management tasks including budgets, schedules and resource allocation
• Conduct fieldwork, perform construction inspections, and review shop drawings as required.
• Utilize industry-leading software such as ETABS, SAFE, and S-Frame for structural modeling and analysis.
• Perform calculations to design and analyze building components using standard and proprietary software.
• Ensure compliance with building codes, including NBCC and other relevant regulations.
• Prepare high-quality technical reports and documentation.
• Work independently and collaboratively within a team-focused environment.

WHAT'S REQUIRED

• Minimum of six years of experience in structural engineering and building design.
• Strong grasp of structural engineering principles and ability to articulate complex concepts clearly.
• Proficiency in Bluebeam is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with permit drawings, the permitting process, and construction procedures.
• Registration with APEGA as an E.I.T. or P.Eng.
