Project Accountant

Location: Austin, TX

Salary: 65-95K (commensurate with experience)

We are seeking a detail-oriented Project Accountant to support the financial management of active construction projects in the Austin market. This role partners closely with Project Managers and leadership to ensure accurate job cost tracking, timely billing, and strong financial reporting throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage job cost accounting for multiple active projects
• Prepare and submit progress billings (AIA / percentage-of-completion)
• Track budgets, change orders, and cost-to-complete reporting
• Review subcontractor pay applications and lien waivers
• Assist with WIP schedules and month-end close
• Reconcile project-related accounts and support audit requests
  
  

Qualifications

• 3 years of project accounting experience in construction or related industry
• Strong understanding of job cost accounting and progress billing
• Experience with construction ERP systems (Sage, Viewpoint, CMiC, or similar)
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, cost analysis)
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred
