About the Role
The Head of Finance will be responsible for leading the health, growth & financial performance of TalentoHC with a primary emphasis on strategic planning, FP&A, accounting, treasury, tax, legal, and procurement functions. This leader will act as a strategic partner to the CEO and executive team, building the financial and operational infrastructure required to scale the business toward a long-term vision of $1B in revenue by 2040.
Responsibilities
- Lead the health, growth & financial performance of the business through disciplined yearly, quarterly, monthly, and weekly planning, goal setting, and operating cadences.
- Build and institutionalize a data-driven operating system, including KPIs, dashboards, and performance management routines that drive accountability and productivity across the organization.
- Oversee the development and continuous evolution of the company’s financial and operational roadmap aligned to growth targets.
- Develop financial business intelligence dashboards to provide real-time visibility into operational and financial performance.
- Author and partner cross-functionally to deliver the company’s long-term strategic plan, aligned to scaling from $27M to $100M and beyond.
- Lead development of the mid- and long-term financial model, including scenario planning, market expansion analysis, and investment prioritization.
- Evaluate new business opportunities, service lines, and geographic expansion strategies through a financial and ROI-driven lens.
- Serve as a strategic business partner to leadership, guiding long-, mid-, and short-term decision-making to drive profitable growth and operating leverage.
- Own the creation and management of annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and performance targets aligned with strategic objectives.
- Establish and lead financial reporting rhythms that provide actionable insights and support executive decision-making.
- Consolidate and analyze financial data (budgets, forecasts, income statements), identifying trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Develop robust financial models, including unit economics, productivity metrics, and scenario analyses to improve performance and scalability.
- Provide recommendations to optimize cost structure, improve margins, and drive overall financial health.
- Oversee all accounting operations, ensuring accurate and timely general ledger management, financial reporting, and close processes (monthly, quarterly, annual).
- Build and scale accounting processes, systems, and internal controls to support a multi-entity, high-growth organization.
- Produce accurate and timely financial reports for leadership, ensuring integrity of financial data and reporting systems.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, proactively managing risk and advising leadership on required actions.
- Oversee billing, collections, and working capital management, optimizing cash conversion cycles and improving liquidity.
- Manage relationships with external partners (CPA firms, auditors) and oversee tax planning, filings, and compliance.
- Support payroll processes, including variable compensation and incentive structures aligned to business performance.
- Develop and execute a long-term capital strategy to support scaling to $100M and the long-term $1B vision.
- Actively manage cash flow, liquidity, and banking relationships to ensure operational flexibility and financial stability.
- Build and manage relationships with financial institutions, private equity, venture capital, and other capital partners.
- Partner cross-functionally to evaluate financial impact of key business decisions and strategic initiatives.
- Lead financial and operational infrastructure for expansion into new markets across the US, Latin America, Europe, and Asia.
- Oversee procurement and vendor management processes to ensure efficient and scalable cost management.
- Drive implementation of secure, scalable systems and tools to support operational efficiency and growth.
- Serve as the financial lead for all M&A activity, including target evaluation, financial diligence, and deal structuring.
- Act as the primary financial interface with ownership groups, investors, and acquisition targets.
- Lead post-acquisition integration efforts, particularly across finance, systems, and back-office functions.
Qualifications
- 10 years of progressive finance leadership experience, with a strong emphasis on FP&A, Controllership, strategic planning, and scaling high-growth businesses.
- Proven experience partnering with executive leadership to drive business performance, growth, and operational efficiency.
- Demonstrated success in building global financial infrastructure and processes in a scaling organization (preferably from $10M–$100M ). Global management experience key as with.
- Strong financial modeling, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Experience in staffing, professional services, or people-based business models is strongly preferred.
- Exposure to capital strategy, fundraising, banking relationships, and/or M&A activity is a plus.
- High learning agility, strong business acumen, and the ability to operate as an embedded partner within the organization.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or economics required; MBA, CPA, or CFA strongly preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with BI/visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau preferred.
