As a Traveling Superintendent, you will play a central role in maintaining safe, organized, and successful construction sites while collaborating with project teams, clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Manage daily field operations from project mobilization through completion.
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel.
- Develop and maintain project schedules in coordination with the Project Manager.
- Conduct daily jobsite meetings and coordinate upcoming construction activities.
- Review plans, specifications, and project documents to identify conflicts and potential issues.
- Coordinate inspections and ensure work complies with plans, specifications, and applicable building codes.
- Monitor project progress and communicate schedule updates to project leadership.
- Maintain high standards for workmanship, quality control, and jobsite organization.
- Enforce company and project-specific safety policies and procedures.
- Identify potential delays, conflicts, and change-order issues and communicate them promptly.
- Coordinate material deliveries and maintain accurate daily reports, logs, schedules, and project documentation.
- Work closely with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders.
- Assist with project closeout, punch lists, inspections, and turnover.
Must-Have Skills:
- At least 2 years of commercial construction experience preferred.
- Previous experience as a Construction Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, or similar field leadership professional.
- Experience managing commercial construction projects from start to finish.
- Strong knowledge of construction means, methods, sequencing, and scheduling.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
- Strong understanding of OSHA and jobsite safety requirements.
- Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple subcontractors, trades, and priorities simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with project teams and clients.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Experience with retail, multifamily, healthcare, office buildings, schools, K-12, QSR, hospitality, or any other commercial projects.
- Background in ground-up construction, renovations, remodeling, or tenant improvements.
- Experience with government, corporate, restaurant, hotel, or education projects.
- Proficiency with construction management and scheduling software.
- OSHA 30 certification.
- Experience coordinating project closeout, punch lists, inspections, and turnover.
- Willingness to travel to active construction sites as project needs require.
