This opportunity offers hands-on exposure to the full project lifecycle, from planning and bidding through completion, while collaborating with architects, engineers, contractors, hotel teams, and brand partners. As a Traveling Project Engineer/Coordinator, you will play a key role in keeping active hotel projects organized, on schedule, and focused on guest experience while traveling to properties across the country.
Responsibilities:
- Support hotel renovation projects from planning through completion.
- Travel onsite to walk properties, inspect progress, and help keep projects moving forward.
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, architects, hotel teams, and brand partners.
- Track project schedules, budgets, vendor timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
- Organize project documentation, including punch lists, reports, proposals, approvals, and scopes.
- Help sequence construction work so hotels can remain operational and guest disruption is minimized.
- Maintain clear communication among general managers, vendors, contractors, and project stakeholders.
- Identify issues early, support risk mitigation, and help drive practical solutions.
- Assist with bidding, vendor onboarding, compliance, and adherence to brand standards.
Must-Have Skills:
- 1–2 years of experience in hospitality, construction, project coordination, or a related field.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage checklists, timelines, documents, and competing priorities.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with hotel teams, contractors, and vendors.
- Comfort working onsite in active hotels and construction environments.
- Proactive, solutions-oriented approach with strong follow-through.
- Ability to travel up to 60% across hotel properties.
- Ability to learn and interpret construction plans, scopes, schedules, and project documentation.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Experience with hotel renovations, capital projects, or hospitality construction.
- Familiarity with Hilton, Marriott, IHG, or other hotel brand standards.
- Exposure to project scheduling, budget tracking, bidding, or vendor management.
- Experience coordinating architects, engineers, contractors, and multiple project stakeholders.
- Knowledge of construction documentation, punch lists, proposals, approvals, and compliance processes.
- Familiarity with project management or construction management software.
