Production Manager

Job Title: Production Manager (2nd Shift: 7pm-7am)

Location: On Site - Walterboro, South Carolina, United States

Salary: $105,000-$125,000

You will work closely with cross‑functional leaders to ensure high‑quality production while continuously improving processes and efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Lead daily production activities to meet schedules safely, efficiently, and on time.
• Plan and coordinate staffing, workflow, and production priorities to maximize productivity.
• Monitor key production metrics, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure all production work complies with batch records, SOPs, ISO standards, and quality requirements.
• Promote a strong safety culture, ensure OSHA compliance, conduct safety inspections, and address hazards proactively.
• Develop, coach, and mentor production employees, manage performance, and oversee training and cross‑training programs.
• Manage departmental budgets, inventory of supplies, and equipment reliability in partnership with Maintenance and Logistics.

Must-Have Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Manufacturing, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5 years of manufacturing or production leadership experience.
• 3 years of supervisory or management experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and 5S principles.
• Comprehensive understanding of OSHA safety regulations and ability to enforce safety policies.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and ability to analyze production data for data‑driven decisions.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Experience in chemical, specialty chemical, coatings, plastics, or related manufacturing industries.
• Background working within an ISO‑certified manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with ERP or manufacturing execution systems (MES).
• Lean Six Sigma certification or formal continuous improvement training.
• Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
