You will work closely with cross‑functional leaders to ensure high‑quality production while continuously improving processes and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Lead daily production activities to meet schedules safely, efficiently, and on time.
- Plan and coordinate staffing, workflow, and production priorities to maximize productivity.
- Monitor key production metrics, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure all production work complies with batch records, SOPs, ISO standards, and quality requirements.
- Promote a strong safety culture, ensure OSHA compliance, conduct safety inspections, and address hazards proactively.
- Develop, coach, and mentor production employees, manage performance, and oversee training and cross‑training programs.
- Manage departmental budgets, inventory of supplies, and equipment reliability in partnership with Maintenance and Logistics.
Must-Have Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Manufacturing, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5 years of manufacturing or production leadership experience.
- 3 years of supervisory or management experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and 5S principles.
- Comprehensive understanding of OSHA safety regulations and ability to enforce safety policies.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem‑solving abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and ability to analyze production data for data‑driven decisions.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Experience in chemical, specialty chemical, coatings, plastics, or related manufacturing industries.
- Background working within an ISO‑certified manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with ERP or manufacturing execution systems (MES).
- Lean Six Sigma certification or formal continuous improvement training.
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
