Responsibilities:
- Provide proactive legal counsel on commercial transactions involving software and cloud services.
- Collaborate and coordinate with business units globally, including sales, finance, product, privacy, and information security.
- Review and revise a wide range of commercial and technology agreements, such as software license, SaaS, confidentiality, and partner agreements.
- Deliver practical legal advice on AI, privacy, and security matters, with a strong focus on North American laws and regulations.
- Draft and update legal documents to ensure compliance with evolving AI, privacy, and security regulations, primarily in North America.
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments in privacy and security, particularly in North America, and flag critical changes to stakeholders.
- Work with global privacy, security, and AI counsel to create compliance programs and resolve cross-border issues.
- Support training and education for sales teams and other internal stakeholders across the contract lifecycle.
- Identify and implement process improvements to drive efficiency in legal workflows and requests.
- Assist with strategic projects, special assignments, and provide support across the Legal Department as needed.
Must-Have Skills:
- 3 to 5 years of experience supporting fast-paced commercial transactions, preferably within the software or technology sector.
- CIPP/US or IAPP training
- Strong expertise in North American privacy, AI, and security laws, with experience applying them in a global company environment.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Proven ability to independently manage multiple priorities in a high-intensity, rapidly evolving environment.
- Highly analytical with strong problem-solving skills and a practical, business-oriented approach to legal counsel.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- AIGP or background in advising on the legal aspects of AI products and machine learning solutions.
- Process improvement or workflow optimization expertise in legal settings.
