This night-shift/weekend Industrial Millwright role offers hands-on responsibility to maintain and improve heavy production equipment, support continuous operations, and contribute to a safety-first culture. The position is ideal for experienced millwrights seeking steady shift work with opportunities to apply fabrication, hydraulic, and precision mechanical skills in a production environment.

Responsibilities:

• Read, interpret, and work from equipment drawings and blueprints to support repairs and installations.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance (PM) and execute corrective maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Cut, weld, and fabricate steel components and perform onsite metal repairs and modifications.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and hydraulic system failures in production equipment in a timely manner.
• Measure, build, and install replacement shafts; perform precision measurement and alignment tasks.
• Replace sprockets, bearings, chains, and other power transmission components to restore machine operation.
• Follow strict lock-out/tagout (LOTO) and machine isolation procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
• Submit work requests, complete work orders, and document maintenance activities per plant procedures; perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs and climbing as required.

Must-Have Skills:

• Minimum 3 years of millwright-level experience in industrial/manufacturing settings.
• Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints, equipment drawings, and technical manuals.
• Hands-on welding and steel fabrication skills with experience repairing structural and mechanical components.
• Strong hydraulic system troubleshooting and repair experience.
• Experience building and replacing shafts, precision measurement, and aligning rotating equipment.
• Demonstrated knowledge of bearings, chains, sprockets, and power transmission systems.
• Strict adherence to lock-out/tagout (LOTO) procedures and an established safety-first approach.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Prior experience in lumber, sawmill, or forest products operations.
• Formal millwright apprenticeship or trade certification.
• Welding certifications (e.g., SMAW, MIG, TIG) and experience with fabrication shops.
• Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• Basic PLC, electrical troubleshooting, or machine controls exposure.
• Experience with shaft building shops, precision machine installation, or alignment tools.
