Our client, recognized for operational excellence and innovation, offers the chance to influence the direction, policies, and workplace culture of a Tier 1 automotive manufacturing facility. As the HR General Manager, you will play a critical role in aligning human resource strategies with business goals, ensuring compliance, and leading key initiatives that foster workforce engagement, safety, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Direct all HR functions, including employee relations, compliance, compensation, benefits, recruitment, training, general affairs, and EHS management for a 500 associate manufacturing environment.
- Serve as the primary HR advisor to executive leadership, supporting business objectives with robust policy development and implementation.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws and regulations, including FLSA, EEOC, OSHA, ADA, and NLRB requirements.
- Lead investigation and resolution of complex employee relations issues, including grievances, policy violations, and performance concerns.
- Manage benefit programs, payroll administration, open enrollment, and all activities related to compensation planning and vendor relationships.
- Oversee talent acquisition, onboarding, succession planning, and annual performance evaluation processes across all departments.
- Administer contract management for insurance, vendors, and legal agreements, ensuring proper authorization, compliance, and record-keeping.
- Provide leadership for EHS programs, ensuring workplace safety standards and all environmental, health, and safety compliance requirements are met.
Must-Have Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive HR experience, with at least five (5) years in a leadership or generalist management role.
- Advanced knowledge of federal and state employment laws (FLSA, EEOC, OSHA, ADA, NLRB, FMLA, ERISA, HIPAA, EPA regulations, etc.) as relevant to large manufacturing environments.
- Proven leadership, coaching, and people management capabilities, with the ability to influence at all organizational levels.
- Advanced proficiency in HR information systems, payroll platforms, and data analysis tools.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Advanced HR certification (PHR, SPHR, GPHR) strongly preferred.
- Experience in automotive manufacturing or Tier 1 supplier environments.
- Direct oversight of General Affairs and/or Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) functions.
- Familiarity with Japanese-owned or multinational business operations and cross-cultural workplace practices.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, including financial stewardship and contract management expertise.
Salary : $110,000 - $120,000
