What are the responsibilities and job description for the Founding Talent position at Talently?
About the role
We are looking for a Founding Talent acquisition partner with 4-6 years of recruiting experience to build the talent acquisition engine from scratch at a fast-growing, AI-native startup. As the first in-house recruiter, you will work directly with the founders to scale the team from 40 to 60 employees within the next year.
The company is heavily backed by top-tier global VCs (including Y Combinator) with $15M raised, and a Series A round is on the horizon. We need someone who has scaled a startup before — ideally growing a company from ~50 to 150 employees — and thrives in a high-intensity, in-person environment where speed is everything.
What will you be doing:
- End-to-End Ownership: Own the full hiring lifecycle end-to-end: intake with hiring managers, sourcing, screening, pipeline management, closing, and onboarding.
- Aggressive Outbound Sourcing: Drive primarily outbound sourcing with high response rates. You need to know how to effectively pitch the startup's mission to passive, high-tier candidates who aren't actively looking.
- Founder & Manager Partnership: Partner closely with hiring managers and founders to understand business needs, calibrate on headcount, and ensure critical technical and operational hires are delivered on time under tight deadlines.
- High-Velocity Pipeline Management: Ensure candidates move through the pipeline fast (no one waits more than 2-3 business days for a decision) while maintaining a best-in-class candidate experience.
- Build Infrastructure: Build and maintain ATS scorecards, interview automation, and recruiting infrastructure to drastically reduce manual work as the company scales.
Requirements:
- Experience: 4 - 6 years of experience in full-cycle recruiting at a fast-growing, venture-backed startup.
- Track Record: Proven ability to source, engage, and close passive talent for highly competitive roles.
- Mindset: High-intensity, high-agency individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and loves building processes from scratch.
Compensation:
- Salary: $100K - $140K base (depending on experience), plus up to a 15% quarterly performance bonus.
- Equity: Competitive early-stage equity pack.
- Type: Full-time position.
Location and wokr policy
- On-site Policy: Strict 5 days in-office (on-site).
- Locations: New York, NY OR London, UK.
- Visa Sponsorship: Available for candidates applying to the London, UK office. No US visa sponsorship available.
Salary : $100,000 - $140,000
