Responsibilities:
- Support engineering projects to develop PLC-based control strategies and sequences of operation.
- Design, develop, and test PLC programs across multiple platforms, including Carel, Automated Logic, and Allen Bradley.
- Develop new protocols and standards for design reviews on new products.
- Generate proposals for new product development, including objectives, methodology, timeline, and budget.
- Develop and maintain roadmaps for components and equipment used in electrical and controls departments.
- Collaborate with managers and procurement to develop vendor/component standards and tier levels.
- Design, engineer, and program product prototypes, including assembly and wiring of prototype and testing apparatuses.
- Ensure compliance with UL and NFPA standards (e.g., UL508A, UL1995, UL60335) and develop technical documentation.
Must-Have Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- 5 years of experience in product engineering, UL508A, HVAC, or a related industry.
- Expertise in PLC/DDC programming strategies (e.g., Ladder Logic, Function Block, Structured Text).
- Proficiency with CAD software such as Autodesk and engineering analysis tools.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and industry standards.
- Excellent problem-solving, project management, and communication skills.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Master’s degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
- Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and heat transfer principles.
- Experience authoring technical white papers and engineering standards/practices.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance and certification processes in machinery manufacturing.
- Mentorship experience with engineering or R&D teams.
