Responsibilities
- Prepare and dispense inpatient medications accurately under pharmacist supervision.
- Inventory management of sterile and non-sterile pharmacy supplies on unit.
- Verify patient prescriptions for accuracy and completeness prior to dispensing.
- Maintain compliance with regulatory and hospital policies for med handling.
- Collaborate with nursing and medical staff to optimize patient care and throughput.
- Document medication administration and dispensing actions in the electronic health record.
- Assist with unit-based medication storage, labeling, and secure handling.
- Engage in continuous learning to develop clinical knowledge and skills.
- Monitor medication usage patterns and flag potential shortages or errors.
- Assist in the preparation of unit dose carts and bedside delivery.
- Support performance metrics by contributing to pipeline forecasting and target tracking.
- Maintain a high-visibility role by communicating activity and outcomes to supervisors.
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) with hospital/inpatient experience.
- Accurate compounding and dispensing under pharmacist supervision, including unit dose prep.
- Proficient use of the electronic health record for medication administration.
- Regulatory and policy compliance for med handling and patient safety.
- Inventory management for sterile and non-sterile supplies with shrinkage controls.
- Collaboration with nursing/medical staff to optimize patient throughput.
- Unit-dose cart preparation and bedside delivery support.
- Analytical skills to monitor usage patterns and flag shortages or errors.
- Commitment to continuous clinical learning and professional development.
- Strong communication for high-visibility reporting to supervisors.
