Company Background
Our client is a well-established, Private Equity-backed holding company that has been operating for approximately three years and has built a portfolio of four landscaping businesses with roughly 400 employees across the Eastern United States.
The Position
As the Business Development Manager, you will lead the charge in identifying, pursuing, and closing new business opportunities, while partnering closely with the CEO and leadership team on go-to-market strategy. You will own the full new-business pipeline - from prospecting and lead generation to negotiation and contract clos, while building strategic relationships that expand the firm’s footprint across the Southeast.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Generate and qualify new business opportunities through proactive prospecting, networking, and outbound outreach for accounts ranging from $100K to $1M in annual value
- Manage the full deal cycle - from initial outreach and discovery through proposal development, negotiation, and contract close, for the South Florida market.
- Develop and execute business development plans and territory strategies, with an eye toward expansion across the broader Southeast region.
- Cultivate and maintain long-term relationships with key partners, prospects, and industry contacts to create a steady stream of referrals and repeat business.
Qualifications and Candidate Background
The ideal candidate will have:
- 4 years of business development or new-business sales experience in business services, with a strong preference for experience selling into property management companies and/or HOAs.
- Strong relationship-building and networking skills, with the ability to represent the firm credibly with senior decision-makers
- Proven hunter mentality with a track record of self-generating leads, developing new business opportunities, and managing the full sales cycle from initial outreach through contract execution.
- Ability to work in CRM systems (HubSpot, Salesforce, or equivalent) and maintain disciplined pipeline tracking and reporting
