Electrical Engineer
Location: Rock Hill, SC
Position Overview
We are seeking a hands-on Electrical Engineer to support a growing engineering team focused on sustaining and improving existing products. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving technical problems, debugging complex electrical systems, and working closely with both engineering and manufacturing teams.
This position supports released products but also partners closely with R&D on design improvements, board revisions, and troubleshooting new product issues when needed.
The ideal candidate brings strong circuit board design experience, embedded firmware knowledge, and a practical problem-solving mindset.
Core Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot electrical and system-level issues affecting released products
- Investigate failures and perform root cause analysis for production and field-related issues
- Support PCB redesigns, board revisions, and product improvements
- Resolve component obsolescence and recommend replacement solutions
- Partner with manufacturing, quality, and engineering teams to improve product reliability
- Update engineering documentation including schematics, BOMs, and technical records
- Support continuous product improvement and engineering change activities
- Debugging electrical issues coming from production
- Supporting ongoing sustaining engineering project backlog
- Troubleshooting board-level and system-level failures
- Assisting with PCB redesign and board spin efforts
- Supporting programming and testing fixtures for circuit boards
- Collaborating with engineers and manufacturing teams to resolve technical issues quickly
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
- Experience in electrical product development, product support, or sustaining engineering
- Strong circuit board / PCB design experience
- Embedded firmware or embedded systems experience
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting capability
- Experience working with microcontrollers and board-level electronics
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience with Altium, OrCAD, Eagle, or similar electrical design tools
- PCB revisions / board spin experience
- Manufacturing or production support experience
- Experience troubleshooting hardware in fast-paced engineering environments
- Exposure to motion control, power electronics, or industrial equipment
- FPGA or PLD exposure is a plus
