Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Welder to join our manufacturing team. The Welder will fabricate and assemble metal components by performing MIG and/or TIG welding according to blueprints, work instructions, and customer specifications. The ideal candidate has strong welding skills, attention to detail, and the ability to produce clean, consistent welds while maintaining a safe and productive work environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform MIG and/or TIG welding on steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and other metals as required.
- Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, drawings, and work instructions.
- Set up welding machines and select appropriate welding processes, wire, gas, and settings.
- Weld components and assemblies according to established specifications and quality standards.
- Fit, position, align, and tack-weld parts prior to final welding.
- Use clamps, fixtures, jigs, and other workholding equipment to maintain proper alignment.
- Inspect completed welds for proper penetration, appearance, dimensions, and overall quality.
- Make adjustments to welding settings and techniques to maintain consistent weld quality.
- Use grinders, saws, drills, presses, and other hand or power tools to prepare and finish components.
- Perform grinding, deburring, cleaning, and other finishing operations as required.
- Identify welding defects, dimensional issues, and material problems and perform necessary rework.
- Complete production paperwork and quality documentation accurately.
- Maintain welding equipment, tools, fixtures, and work areas in good working condition.
- Perform basic troubleshooting and notify maintenance or supervision of equipment issues.
- Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and OSHA guidelines.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Meet production schedules while maintaining quality and accuracy.
- Work closely with other welders, fabricators, assemblers, and production team members to complete projects.
Qualifications
- Previous welding experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment preferred.
- Experience with MIG and/or TIG welding.
- Ability to read blueprints and welding symbols.
- Basic understanding of welding processes, materials, and equipment.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable attendance and ability to work the assigned shift.
Preferred Experience
- MIG welding
- TIG welding
- Flux-core welding
- Structural or production welding
- Steel, stainless steel, or aluminum welding
- Welding fixtures and jigs
- Blueprint and weld-symbol interpretation
- Fabrication and fitting
- Grinding and finishing
- Experience using calipers, tape measures, squares, and other measuring tools
- Previous experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, and positioning of materials.
- Ability to lift and move materials and components as required.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, heat, sparks, fumes, and metal materials.
- Ability to wear required PPE, including welding helmet, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, and protective clothing.
