Job Overview:
The Project Assistant – Automation supports Project Managers and cross-functional teams in coordinating and executing custom automation projects. This role plays a key part in maintaining organization, communication, and documentation throughout the project lifecycle. Working closely with engineering, assembly, and purchasing teams, the Project Assistant helps ensure projects remain on schedule, properly documented, and aligned with customer expectations.
Responsibilities:
- Support Project Managers with daily coordination and administrative tasks
- Track project schedules, milestones, and deliverables
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including schedules, reports, and meeting notes
- Assist with customer communication and project status updates
- Coordinate meetings, prepare agendas, and document action items
- Support procurement activities and track parts and material status
- Assist in monitoring project budgets and expenses
- Follow up on open items with internal teams (engineering, assembly, purchasing)
- Support project closeout activities, including documentation and lessons learned
- Communicate effectively across teams to ensure alignment and accountability
Qualifications:
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred (Business, Engineering, or related field)
- 1–3 years of experience in project coordination, administration, or a manufacturing/automation environment preferred
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Basic understanding of project management principles
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach to task management
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in automation, manufacturing, or engineering environments
- Familiarity with project management tools (MS Project or similar)
- Basic understanding of mechanical or electrical systems
