Job Summary

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Machine Operator to join our plastic injection molding team in a medical device manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for operating injection molding equipment, monitoring production processes, inspecting molded components, and ensuring products meet strict quality standards.

The ideal candidate has previous manufacturing or injection molding experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to follow detailed work instructions and quality procedures. Experience in medical device manufacturing is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Operate plastic injection molding machines to produce components according to production and quality specifications.
• Load and unload materials and monitor machines throughout the molding process.
• Follow established work instructions, standard operating procedures, and production schedules.
• Monitor machine cycles, temperatures, pressures, and other process conditions.
• Inspect molded parts for defects such as flash, short shots, warping, discoloration, cracks, and other quality issues.
• Perform visual and dimensional inspections using calipers, gauges, and other measuring equipment as required.
• Remove, trim, and perform basic secondary operations on molded components.
• Assemble, package, label, and prepare finished medical device components according to customer and company specifications.
• Identify quality or machine issues and notify the appropriate supervisor, technician, or quality personnel.
• Make minor machine adjustments within established operating procedures to maintain consistent production and quality.
• Perform material changes and assist with machine changeovers as needed.
• Maintain accurate production, inspection, and quality documentation.
• Follow cleanroom or controlled-environment procedures when applicable.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and contamination-controlled work area.
• Follow all company safety policies, PPE requirements, quality standards, and medical manufacturing procedures.
• Work closely with production, quality, maintenance, and engineering teams to resolve production issues.
• Meet established production goals while maintaining strict standards for quality and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Previous manufacturing, machine operating, or plastic injection molding experience preferred.
• Medical device manufacturing experience is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify small defects.
• Ability to read and follow detailed work instructions and standard operating procedures.
• Basic understanding of measurements and dimensional specifications.
• Comfortable performing repetitive tasks while maintaining consistent quality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good attendance and reliability are essential.
• Basic computer skills for production and quality documentation.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Preferred Skills

• Plastic injection molding experience
• Machine setup or changeover experience
• Quality inspection experience
• Use of calipers, gauges, and other measuring equipment
• Medical device or cleanroom manufacturing experience
• GMP, ISO, or other regulated manufacturing experience
• Basic troubleshooting skills

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to repeatedly use hands and fingers for detailed production and inspection tasks.
• Ability to lift and move materials and finished products as required.
• Ability to perform repetitive motions while maintaining accuracy.
• Ability to wear required PPE and work in a controlled manufacturing environment.
