What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Logistics Coordinator position at Talent Strategy?
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Communicate and negotiate with manufacturers, suppliers, vendors, and retailers.
- Schedule drivers to make freight deliveries.
- Investigate, resolve, and initiate freight claims.
- Utilize logistics IT to optimize procedures.
- Plan and track the shipment according to customer requirements and international shipping standards.
- Prepare accurate reports and update customer portals.
- Prepare dispatch documents as needed.
- Responding to customer inquiries and referring clients to the proper channels.
- Ensuring that the quality of all services provided meets the required standards.
- Resolve shipment and inventory issues.
- Analyze data and suggest modifications and improvements accordingly.
- Assure compliance with all shipper requirements and federal, state, and local requirements including OSHA, EPA and other regulatory bodies.
- Cross-train in all shipping clerk roles.
- Perform other duties as assigned by DC leadership.
SKILLS:
- Associates degree in transportation and logistics, or the equivalent there of, and two years or more of related work experience to demonstrate knowledge of warehouse and freight logistics
- A strong spirit of teamwork, cooperation, the ability to cultivate/maintain positive working relationships with people ls inside and outside of the organization
- Independent decision making and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop solutions in a logical, systematic way
- Organizational and time management skills with an attention to detail/follow-up
- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude and adapt to changes in environment / responsibilities
