The Logistics Assistant works alongside warehouse managers and the logistics manager to support the
company's logistics, fleet, and facility operations. This role is ideal for a motivated individual seeking hands-on logistics and operations experience. The Assistant will be responsible for cleaning and organizing fleet
vehicles, moving and maintaining warehouse inventory, assisting with company-wide warehouse projects,
and potentially transporting materials to job sites. This position requires physical stamina, strong
organizational skills, travel in the central Illinois area, and a proactive attitude.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
FLEET SUPPORT:
- Clean and reorganize fleet vehicles to maintain company standards.
- Restock vehicles with tools and materials as needed.
- Remove debris and maintain basic upkeep of vehicle interiors and exteriors.
- Assist with vehicle replacement and rebuilding projects.
FACILITY AND WAREHOUSE OPERATIONS:
- Assist with cleaning, organizing, and labeling materials and inventory.
- Help with the safe loading and unloading of materials and tools.
- Assemble shelving units, prepare storage areas, and maintain overall organization.
- Assist with warehouse projects, cleaning and organizing efforts, and general warehouse functions.
- Assist with processing deliveries, shipments, and returns
- Support trade teams in staging and prepping materials for jobs
- Support in managing recycling and disposal processes
LOGISTICS OPERATIONS:
- Deliver parts or materials to job sites as requested (if eligible with a valid driver’s license).
- Assist the logistics team in executing short-term logistics tasks and equipment setups.
- Support in inventory sorting, relocation, and space optimization projects.
MUST HAVE:
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds consistently throughout the day
- Capacity to perform physical tasks including bending, reaching, and standing for long periods in a warehouse or outdoor environment
- Comfort working in various weather conditions when cleaning or restocking fleet vehicles
- A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record for transporting materials to job sites
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening as required for fleet operations
