Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented 1st Shift Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team in Spring Lake! The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing and machining, specifically laser operation. They will also have the technical knowledge to program equipment, read blueprints, and use precision measuring instruments. This role involves setting up, operating, monitoring, and maintaining various industrial machinery to ensure efficient production processes.
Responsibilities
- Operate and control a variety of manufacturing equipment including CNC Mills, Presses, Wire EDM, Laser, and Inspection. All departments as needed or assigned.
- Monitor the production process to ensure products meet quality standards. Conduct in-process inspections and adjust as necessary to maintain product quality.
- Identify and address machine malfunctions and operational issues promptly. Troubleshoot issues as they arise.
- Read and comprehend instructions and blueprints, as well as follow established procedures.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries. Report any unsafe issues or concerns to supervisors and/or the head of safety.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on machines, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn parts. Reports any maintenance issues to the plant manager.
- Set up and adjust machinery for production runs, ensuring proper tooling and calibration.
- Take precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, etc., to maintain product standards and ensure the perfect fit of components.
- Load raw materials into machines and unload finished products. Ensure proper material handling procedures are followed.
- Collaborate with colleagues, including the plant manager, quality, and the plant manager to achieve production goals and resolve issues.
- Assemble metal parts per instructions using hands, tools, and machinery.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment adhering to safety protocols.
- Other tasks as assigned.
Skills
- Machine Operator and Assembly experience is preferred.
- Technical knowledge and ability to read blueprints, drawings, instructions, etc.
- Ability to operate various hand tools and precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers.
- Excellent manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and exemplary attention to detail.
- Basic math skills necessary for measurements and calculations related to manufacturing processes.
- Must be a quick learner with a positive attitude, who possesses the ability to follow both written and oral instruction.
- Efficient with working independently as well as in a collaborative environment.
- May be required to obtain a power industrial truck license.
