VVESTS plays a crucial role in supporting mission-critical functions for the Virginia Department of Health, including managing the Birth Registry, Death Registry (EDRS), and Screening Registry. The system also facilitates integration with multiple state partners such as the Library of Virginia (LVA), Department of Social Services (DSS), Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), and Division of Consolidated Laboratory Services (DCLS), as well as federal agencies including the Social Security Administration (SSA), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS), and the National Association for Public Health Statistics and Information Systems (NAPHSIS).
