We are seeking a Power Transformer Construction Specialist to provide field oversight of transformer-related projects, ensuring safe installation, quality execution, and compliance with plant and utility requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee installation contractors during power transformer projects
- Support transformer replacements, upgrades, inspections, and maintenance activities
- Lead contractor safety oversight and LOTO compliance
- Conduct field walkdowns, pre-job briefs, and hazard assessments
- Monitor construction quality, schedule, and contract compliance
- Coordinate field changes, punch lists, and as-built documentation
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and site requirements
- Provide daily project updates and installation reports
Required Experience
- Experience working with power transformers in utility, power generation, industrial, manufacturing, testing, or substation environments
- Construction oversight or field execution experience
- Knowledge of transformer installation, maintenance, testing, or condition assessment
- Strong understanding of LOTO and contractor safety requirements
- Experience supporting outages, capital projects, or major equipment installations
- Ability to read engineering drawings, work packages, and project specifications
Preferred Experience
- Transformer diagnostics, DGA, or transformer testing experience
- Utility, substation, transmission, distribution, or nuclear industry experience
- Contract Work Leader (CWL) or Site Sponsor experience
- Knowledge of NERC/CIP, FME, and quality control programs
Education:
- Associate (Preferred)
Experience:
- Power Generation: 10 years (Preferred)
