Our client is a rapidly growing, leading national manufacturer and distributor of high-performance building materials. They are looking for an autonomous, impact-driven Operations Supervisor to take full ownership of their local back-office logistics, warehousing, and light production floor.
This isn't a desk job, and it’s definitely not a place to just "maintain the status quo." We need a hands-on leader who looks at a floor and immediately sees how to use Lean/5S to make it faster, safer, and more accurate.
What You’ll Do Day-to-Day:
- Own the Floor: Lead and develop an on-site warehouse and production crew of 10–20 hourly employees. You’ll have the freedom to build your team culture and actively coach up performance.
- Drive Efficiency: Use Lean and 5S methodologies to optimize the warehouse layout, reduce logistical waste, and streamline order fulfillment.
- Master the Metrics: Take direct accountability for key inventory KPIs, specifically Inventory Record Accuracy and Order Picking Accuracy.
- Oversee Assets: Manage preventative maintenance and floor utilization for material processing machinery, specialized tools, and forklifts.
- Keep Data Clean: Run daily transactions through a modern, cloud-based ERP system using electronic barcoding and scanning workflows.
What We’re Looking For (Must-Haves):
- 3 to 5 years of supervisor or leadership experience directly on a warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing floor.
- Strong ERP & Scanning Experience: You must be highly proficient with modern ERP systems and have direct, hands-on experience utilizing electronic barcoding and scanning devices for inventory transactions.
- A "Hands-On" Leadership Style: You lead from the front. You have high mechanical aptitude and are fully willing to jump on a forklift or help move materials alongside your team when the operation needs support.
- A Track Record of Impact: You can easily point to a past warehouse or production line and explain how you left it more organized and efficient than you inherited it.
- Stability: A stable career history with a pattern of growth (no frequent job-hopping).
