About the Opportunity

Our client, a growing distribution company, is seeking a Senior Accountant to take ownership of core accounting operations while helping bring structure, clarity, and leadership to the function. This is a high-impact role where you’ll partner closely with leadership, improve processes, and play a key part in financial visibility and decision-making.

What You’ll Do

• Oversee daily accounting operations and lead the month-end close process
• Prepare and analyze financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) and variance reports
• Manage AP, AR, billing, payroll, and bank reconciliations
• Handle moderate invoice volume and track field expenses
• Maintain and update a three month cash flow forecast to support planning
• Ensure accuracy in financial data, coding, and compliance with policies and regulations
• Establish and improve accounting processes, systems, and internal controls
• Monitor budgets, financial performance, liabilities, and key risk areas
• Deliver financial dashboards and insights to leadership
• Support strategic decisions through financial analysis and recommendations
• Oversee tax filings (sales tax, payroll taxes, 1099s) and coordinate with external advisors
• Manage banking relationships, including deposits, transfers, and loan tracking
• Assist with audits and lead special projects as needed

What You Bring

• 5 years of accounting experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; Master’s preferred
• Experience in distribution or similiar industry
• Strong background in managing and improving accounting processes
• Proven ability to lead, delegate, and build structure within a team
• Leadership experience is a plus
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive
• Experience with ERP/enterprise accounting systems
