A leading law firm seeks an experienced Litigation Legal Assistant / Legal Secretary to support attorneys in a fast-paced environment. This role provides comprehensive litigation, administrative, and client support, requiring strong attention to detail, organization, and high-quality work.
Responsibilities
- Support all aspects of litigation case management, including pre- and post-trial activities
- Prepare, format, proofread, and finalize legal documents (pleadings, motions, discovery, contracts)
- Handle state, federal, and appellate e-filing
- Manage client intake, conflicts checks, and matter setup
- Maintain client files and document management systems
- Coordinate calendars, deadlines, meetings, travel, and court schedules
- Process time entry, billing, invoices, and expenses
- Assist with client communications and transactional support as needed
- Provide general administrative, clerical, and team support
Requirements
- 5–8 years of litigation legal assistant/secretarial experience
- California litigation experience required
- Strong knowledge of court rules, e-filing, and docketing
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe; experience with DMS (iManage preferred)
- Excellent organization, communication, and multitasking skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Professional, team-oriented, and able to handle confidential information
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; high school diploma required
