Overview
A leading professional services organization is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join its Information Technology team. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise infrastructure solutions while helping to maintain a secure, scalable, and highly available technology environment. The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical leader with expertise across systems administration, cloud technologies, cybersecurity, and infrastructure operations.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain enterprise server, storage, virtualization, and cloud infrastructure environments
- Manage and support Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Azure, and related technologies
- Lead infrastructure upgrades, system migrations, and technology modernization initiatives
- Administer identity and access management solutions, including MFA, SSO, and privileged access controls
- Monitor system performance, availability, and security, proactively identifying and resolving issues
- Support cybersecurity initiatives through vulnerability remediation, endpoint management, patching, and security best practices
- Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, networking, and application issues, providing root cause analysis and recommendations
- Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to support business continuity, disaster recovery, and operational excellence
- Assist with compliance audits, technology assessments, and infrastructure documentation
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements to enhance reliability, performance, and security
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience
- 5 years of experience in systems engineering, infrastructure administration, or related IT roles
- Strong experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Azure, virtualization platforms, and enterprise storage solutions
- Experience supporting cloud technologies, identity management, and cybersecurity controls
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and firewall technologies
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively across technical and business teams
- Relevant certifications such as Microsoft, Azure, VMware, CISSP, or related credentials preferred
- Experience supporting professional services, legal, or highly regulated environments is a plus
