Position Overview
A Safety Coordinator is needed to support special projects within the general construction sector. This role is responsible for implementing and maintaining safety programs, conducting training, and performing regular jobsite safety inspections to ensure compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and hazard-mitigation standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the condition and operability of emergency response equipment
- Investigate reportable accidents, injuries, and jobsite damages
- Oversee and coordinate inspection and servicing of fire extinguishers, breathing apparatus, gas detectors, and other safety equipment
- Conduct or coordinate classroom and field safety training as needed
- Assist project and operations leadership with materials for monthly safety meetings
- Participate in incident investigation committees as required
- Perform routine safety audits and document findings
Requirements & Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in construction, with emphasis on safety practices
- OSHA 30-hour, First Aid/CPR, and defensive-driving or fleet-safety training credentials preferred
- Advanced education in Safety Management or a related discipline is a plus
- Ability to conduct audits and produce clear, accurate documentation
- Strong communication skills; proficiency in MS Office and Google Suite
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
- Willingness to travel for projects in nearby regions
Salary : $70,000 - $90,000
