Financial Controller

Position Overview

The Financial Controller will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting function and ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can manage the details of accounting operations while also providing financial insight that helps drive sound business decisions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all core accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and month-end close.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support business planning and performance management.
• Oversee inventory accounting, job costing, and cost of goods sold within a manufacturing environment.
• Monitor cash flow, working capital, and banking relationships to support overall financial health.
• Partner with leadership on pricing, margin analysis, and profitability initiatives.
• Coordinate year-end audit support, tax filings, and communication with external accountants.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable financial regulations.
• Provide leadership with actionable financial insights and recommendations.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
• 7 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within manufacturing.
• Prior Controller or Assistant Controller experience strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Experience with inventory management, job costing, and manufacturing KPIs.
• Proficiency with accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work independently and handle confidential information with discretion.
• CPA or CMA is a plus, but not required.
