Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Senior Buyer/Planner to lead procurement and production planning activities within our manufacturing and supply chain operations. This pivotal role combines strategic sourcing with demand-driven planning to ensure the seamless flow of materials, optimize inventory levels, and support manufacturing excellence. As a Senior Buyer/Planner, you will leverage your expertise in ERP systems, supplier management, and supply chain processes to drive efficiency, reduce costs, and uphold high standards of quality. Your proactive approach will help us meet production schedules, enhance supplier relationships, and contribute to our overall operational success.

Duties

• Develop and execute procurement strategies utilizing SAP, Oracle EBS, and other ERP systems to source materials efficiently while maintaining cost-effectiveness.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, logistics, and quality assurance to align supply chain activities with production schedules.
• Manage supplier relationships through effective communication, performance monitoring, and contract negotiations to ensure reliable delivery of quality materials.
• Oversee inventory management practices such as inventory control, demand planning, and MRP (Material Requirements Planning) to optimize stock levels and reduce waste.
• Coordinate procurement activities with production planning to ensure timely availability of materials for manufacturing processes.
• Monitor supply chain metrics related to procurement, logistics, warehouse operations, and materials management; identify areas for process improvement using lean manufacturing principles.
• Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, contracts, delivery schedules, and supplier performance documentation.

Experience

• Proven experience in procurement or purchasing within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle EBS, or similar platforms used for materials management and supply chain planning.
• Demonstrated knowledge of supply chain management concepts including demand planning, logistics, inventory control, and contracts management.
• Hands-on experience with production planning tools like MRP systems and lean manufacturing practices.
• Excellent supplier management skills with a track record of building productive vendor relationships.
• Warehouse experience coupled with understanding of logistics operations is highly desirable.
• Ability to analyze data related to inventory levels, procurement cycles, and supply chain performance metrics for continuous improvement.
