Client Reporting Engineer, VP

We are seeking a Senior Reporting Engineer (VP-level individual contributor) to join the technology team of a leading global capital management firm. This role sits at the intersection of production support, client services, and engineering, with a focus on building and supporting reporting solutions that are critical to business operations and client delivery. The ideal candidate has deep technical expertise in SQL, C#, .NET, and AWS, along with strong experience in the financial services industry.

This is a hybrid position based in the New York City area, with 2-3 days a week in the office. U.S. work authorization is required. No visa sponsorship is available at this time.

Job Title: Senior Reporting Engineer (VP-level)

Location: Hybrid (New York City - local candidates only)

Responsibilities

• Own the development, enhancement, and support of internal reporting tools and services used across investment operations and client-facing teams
• Partner directly with business users to gather requirements and deliver solutions for client reporting, portfolio data, and investment transaction workflows
• Perform SQL-based reporting and data analysis to support critical decision-making and client deliverables
• Manage bug fixes, technical issue resolution, and ongoing system health for reporting and integration services
• Collaborate with other engineering teams to maintain and evolve reporting pipelines and data integrations across trading, portfolio management, and sales systems
• Support production environments, including deployments, monitoring, and troubleshooting
• Contribute to continuous improvement of internal processes, coding practices, and operational efficiency
  
  

Required Skills & Experience

• 6-12 years of experience in software engineering or production support, ideally in a financial services environment
• Strong proficiency in SQL for complex reporting and data analytics
• Hands-on expertise with C# and .NET for application support and enhancements
• Familiarity with AWS and cloud-based infrastructure for data processing and reporting
• Experience balancing production support responsibilities with longer-term development projects
• Strong debugging, problem-solving, and data management skills
• Ability to partner directly with business stakeholders and translate requirements into scalable technical solutions
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working in a cross-functional environment
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline
  
  

Compensation

• Base Salary: $165,000 - $185,000
• Total Comp - $230,000 - $250,000

• Hybrid role - candidates must be local to the New York City area and able to work onsite 2-3 days per week
