Counselor – Mansfield, Ohio
Talbot Health Services is seeking a dedicated and clinically driven Counselor to join our Mansfield team. This role is responsible for delivering high-quality behavioral health and substance use treatment services while maintaining full compliance with clinical, documentation, and regulatory standards.

Position Overview
The Counselor works under the supervision of the Regional Director of Clinical Services and is responsible for providing direct client care, maintaining accurate documentation, and supporting coordinated treatment planning across disciplines.
This is a non-exempt, hourly position with scheduling based on program needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide initial and ongoing client assessments, counseling, and clinical interventions
- Deliver individual, group, and family therapy services
- Utilize trauma-informed care practices in all client interactions
- Coordinate care with internal teams and external providers
- Complete all clinical documentation accurately, including treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries
- Maintain documentation compliance within required timelines (including 48-hour completion standards)
- Ensure billing accuracy and timeliness where applicable
- Participate in case consultations, referrals, and client education
- Maintain audit-ready charts and records at all times
- Meet assigned productivity expectations
- Adhere to all federal and state confidentiality and compliance requirements
Qualifications
Required
- Active Ohio license: LSW, LPC, or LCDC II/III (in good standing)
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
Preferred
- Advanced licensure: LISW, LPCC, or LICDC
- Master’s degree in a related field
- CPR/First Aid certification
- Crisis intervention or de-escalation training
