What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinical Counselor position at Church of the Open Door?
Compensation: Full-Time or Part-Time Salary positions available
Work Schedule: 20-40 hrs./week. Flexible schedule. Some evenings hrs.
The Licensed Counselor provides compassionate, clinically sound counseling services to individuals, couples, and families within a Christian counseling environment at the new Open Door Counseling & Community Center. This role integrates professional mental health practices with a faith-informed perspective, offering biblically based counseling when requested by clients and clinically grounded counseling for clients who prefer non-biblical approaches. The counselor supports emotional, relational, and spiritual well-being while maintaining ethical and professional standards.
Core Responsibilities:
· Provide direct clinical service to clients and significant others, including, but not limited to, individual and group counseling, diagnostic assessment, and crisis intervention
· Offer biblically integrated counseling when requested by clients
· Provide evidence-based clinical counseling for clients who prefer non-faith-based approaches
· Maintain appropriate ethical, professional, and legal standards in all services
· Complete all relevant documentation on a timely basis
· Committed to quality improvement
· Participate in staff meetings and other relevant meetings
· Actively engages in continuing education and professional training
· Collaborate with other staff, referral partners, and community resources
· Participate in case consultation and supervision as required
· Maintain client confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and professional guidelines
· Provide crisis intervention and risk assessment when necessary
· Support the vision, mission, and values of The Center
Qualifications:
· A mature, growing believer with a clear understanding of the Gospel
· Active state licensure as LPC, LPCC, LMHC, LCSW, LSW, LISW, LMFT, or equivalent
· Degree in counseling, social work, marriage & family therapy, or related field
· Agreement with The Center’s statement of faith and mission
· Experience with biblical counseling integration preferred
· Training in evidence-based modalities (CBT, EMDR, EFT, etc.) preferred
· Experience to counsel kids and youth preferred
