What are the responsibilities and job description for the Research Associate position at Talbert House?
Position Summary: Serve as a researcher on select projects by recruiting study participants, conducting literature reviews, and collecting and analyzing qualitative and quantitative data. Provide administrative support to the Center.
Position Description:
- Ensure accurate documentation of all data; validate quality of data
- Develop and maintain study databases
- Assist with creation of interview guides, surveys, tracking forms and other study instruments
- Assist with data analysis and reporting; including preparation of interim and final project reports
- Prepare materials for submission to granting agencies, foundations and Institutional Review Board (IRB)
- Collaborate with Center leadership and staff to write new funding proposals
- Provide technical assistance to line staff when needed
- Maintain good relationships with internal and external customers, funders and colleagues
- Assist in disseminating study results to external audiences
- Participate in professional activities as appropriate
- Other duties as assigned
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Advanced mathematics, research design and statistical analysis
- Quantitative and qualitative research methods
- Ability to gather, collate and classify information about data, persons or things
- Assurance that all research practices comply with legal and regulatory requirements as well as agency policy, including appropriate documentation and follow-up for contract/grant requirements.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills; high attention to detail
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to multi-task
- Ability to interface with internal and external customers
- Maintenance of appropriate boundaries with staff and clients
Job Requirements:
- Master’s Degree in social science or health science field, plus relevant experience with research methodology and statistics
- Working knowledge of statistical software preferred
- Valid driver’s license and current auto insurance
