Responsibilities
- Oversee the electronic submission of approximately 500 grant applications annually, primarily federal grants submitted via Cayuse 424 and Cayuse SP systems.
- Serve as the primary resource for researchers, faculty, and administrators regarding Cayuse grant management, providing technical support and system guidance.
- Review proposal budgets for accuracy, compliance with NIH salary caps, indirect cost policies, and sponsor guidelines; coordinate budget revisions, cost-share requests, and waivers.
- Ensure all proposals include necessary approvals, institutional sign-offs, and are compliant with federal mandates such as the NIH Data Management and Sharing Policy and Other Support requirements.
- Manage internal routing and review workflows within Cayuse SP, track proposal statuses, and facilitate timely submissions.
- Collaborate with various research offices to verify employment, salary details, and compliance documentation.
- Assist with preparing and reviewing Letters of Intent, Statements of Work, sub-award budgets, and progress reports.
- Respond promptly to submission issues, validation failures, and sponsor inquiries while maintaining meticulous documentation.
- Stay current on evolving federal research regulations, policies, and institutional procedures to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Bachelor’s degree (preferably in business, finance, or related fields).
- Minimum of five years’ experience in sponsored projects administration, specializing in pre-award activities, with familiarity managing around 500 proposals per year preferred.
- Proven expertise in grant budgeting, compliance, and federal regulatory requirements.
- Extensive experience operating Cayuse 424 and Cayuse SP systems.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to interpret complex regulations.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of translating technical requirements to faculty and staff.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload, manage deadlines, and coordinate multiple activities efficiently.
