Overview
We are seeking a skilled Cost Analyst to join our team and support space system cost estimating efforts. In this role, you will utilize parametric approaches and develop tools using software such as Excel, R, or Python to analyze and estimate costs across various space-related product lines. Your work will directly contribute to the planning and execution of space, launch, and ground system projects, ensuring accurate financial assessments and supporting mission success.

Work Arrangement
This is an on-site position located in Chantilly, VA.
Responsibilities
- Perform cost estimating using parametric approaches, with a focus on space system experience, including software estimating.
- Develop and maintain cost estimating tools using COTS (e.g., MS Excel), custom code, or FOSS (e.g., R, Python).
- Analyze space hardware, bus, and payload costs across multiple product lines such as GEOINT, SIGINT, COMM, and Resiliency capabilities.
- Support cost estimating for space system, launch system, ground system, and services projects.
- Collect and normalize data for cost analysis.
- Apply statistical methods and develop models including multivariate regression, risk analysis (Monte Carlo simulations), and cost improvement curves.
- Assist in source selection evaluation support and cost estimating for Agile development efforts.
Required Qualifications
- At least 4 years of experience in cost estimating or related fields.
- Experience with space system cost estimating, including hardware, software, and payloads.
- Proficiency in data collection, normalization, and statistical analysis methods.
- Ability to develop and use cost estimating tools in Excel, R, or Python.
- Knowledge of space-related product lines such as GEOINT, SIGINT, and communications.
- Experience supporting cost analysis for launch, ground, and services systems.
- Strong analytical skills and experience with multivariate regression, risk analysis, and Monte Carlo simulations.
Desired Skills
- Experience with Agile development cost estimating.
- Familiarity with space system programs like NRO, NASA, or AF systems.
