Job Summary

Duties

• Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) aligned with state laws and educational standards for students with disabilities.
• Adapt curriculum content and instructional methods to meet the unique needs of each student, including those with autism spectrum disorders, developmental disabilities, and neurodevelopmental disorders.
• Use evidence-based behavioral management techniques and behavioral therapy strategies to support positive behavior and social skills development.
• Collaborate closely with speech therapists, occupational therapists, psychologists, parents, and other professionals to create comprehensive support plans for students.
• Incorporate educational technology tools and instructional modifications to enhance learning engagement and accessibility.
• Conduct ongoing assessments of student progress through standardized testing, formative evaluations, and observational data collection; adjust instruction accordingly.
• Maintain detailed documentation of student progress, IEP goals, behavior plans, and communication logs to ensure compliance with special education law.
• Engage in regular parent-teacher communication to share updates on student achievements, challenges, and strategies for home support.
• Manage classroom behavior effectively through proactive classroom management techniques that foster a safe and nurturing learning environment.
• Provide tutoring or additional support sessions as needed to reinforce literacy education, math skills, or other core subjects.
• Support early childhood development initiatives by integrating preschool experience principles into classroom activities when appropriate.

Experience

• Proven classroom experience working with elementary school students in a special education setting is required.
• Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development tailored for students with disabilities across various grade levels.
• Experience working with individuals with autism spectrum disorders, developmental disabilities, or neurodevelopmental disorders is highly valued.
• Familiarity with special education law (IDEA), IEP development process, and instructional modifications is essential.
• Strong knowledge of behavioral health practices, behavior management techniques, and behavioral therapy strategies for children with special needs.
• Proficiency in educational technology integration to support differentiated instruction and student engagement.
• Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with colleagues, families, and external specialists involved in student support.
• Prior experience in early intervention programs or preschool settings is a plus for supporting early childhood learners.

Pay: $65,527.00 - $123,506.00 per year
