Position Overview
Position Type: Full-Time, Year-Round
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Accountant I who thrives in a relaxed, nature-focused environment. As part of our team, you will be dedicated to creating unforgettable experiences that reflect the spirit of our unique mountain community.
The Accountant I is an entry-level accounting professional responsible for supporting daily financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger activities, and various administrative and ad hoc tasks. Reporting to the Controller, this role helps ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial recordkeeping that supports the organization’s overall financial health.
What You’ll Do:
- Accounts Payable
- Process vendor invoices and payments accurately and on schedule.
- Verify invoice coding, accuracy, and proper authorization.
- Reconcile accounts and assist with monthly financial reporting.
- Monitor balances, track expenses, and review discounts and house accounts.
- Support bank reconciliation and documentation processes.
- Accounts Receivable
- Apply member payments promptly and accurately.
- Respond to account inquiries and resolve discrepancies.
- Issue monthly statements and follow up on delinquent accounts, including collection arrangements.
- Review use of discounts and house accounts.
- General Ledger & Month-End Close
- Perform account reconciliations in a timely manner.
- Assist with month-end close and audit preparation.
- Additional Support Functions
- Support cash management and deposit preparation.
- Assist with purchasing, contract retention, and license renewals.
- Maintain records, scanning, mail, and filing systems.
- Prepare CAR Forms/HOA demands and related filings.
- Provide backup support for administrative and finance staff as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Controller or Director of Finance.

What We’re Looking For:
- Knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and month-end processes.
- Strong computer proficiency, including Excel and accounting systems.
- Attention to detail – Ensures accuracy and completeness in all financial records.
- Communication & service orientation – Builds effective relationships with vendors, members, and colleagues; communicates clearly in both written and verbal forms.
- Teamwork – Works independently and collaboratively to meet departmental needs.
- Time management – Manages multiple priorities, deadlines, and interruptions effectively.
- Analytical mindset – Identifies discrepancies, recommends process improvements, and exercises sound judgment in resolving accounting issues.
- Experience with auditing procedures, internal controls, and financial reporting.
- Knowledge of homeowners association (HOA) operations.
- Familiarity with fund accounting
These skills and abilities are typically acquired through the completion of an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in accounting, and/or finance or a related field and three experience in accounts payable/receivable positions; or an equivalent combination of formal training, education and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform all of the duties of the position.
Salary : $28 - $38
