Sr Accountant

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

We are seeking a process-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our accounting team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and analyzing financial information, maintaining accurate financial records, and generating reports that track assets, liabilities, profit and loss, and tax liabilities. The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting skills, especially in process documentation & continuous improvement and have a proactive approach to supporting financial operations across the organization.

Reporting to the Controller you’ll primarily work with our accounting team and business to deliver the best-in-class accounting practices, service and support.

A highlight of your day-to-day will include:

• General Ledger Management: Perform limited day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries. Verify all transactions are recorded in accordance with accounting principles (GAAP).

• Financial Close: Perform all the month-end closing process, including standard journal Entries, calculating accruals & allocation, and completing reconciliations.

• Financial Analysis & Reporting: Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.  Participate in monthly Budget to Actual reviews for selected Corporate departments and sites to monitor budget compliance and to seek out opportunities to improve expense visibility and spending controls.

• Tax Compliance: Responsible for the preparation of SALT & Personal Property tax returns and support tax audits. Ensure compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations.

• Cost Accounting: Support Site GMs in maintaining accurate Inventory costing records including component costing and builds, Allocation of Labor and overhead, and Physical inventory tracking.

• Financial Controls Documentation, & Training : Responsible for documenting workflows and control structures currently existing including preparing written SOPs for financial processes

• Internal & External Audit- Plan and perform internal audits of the financial control processes and asst Controller in supporting the annual external audit

• Process Improvements: Assist Controller in identifying opportunities to optimize our financial controls processes and then leading efforts to improve their effectiveness & efficiency.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for someone who has a passion for managing and improving our accounting practices and comes with the following skills, education and experience

• BA Degree in Accounting required, (CPA or CMA preferred)
• 3 years of strong technical accounting experience (Public accounting experience a plus)
• Experience in manufacturing industry is preferred.
• Proficient with ERPs, QuickBooks software and strong Microsoft Excel
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
