Sr. Accountant

Robert Half Contract Finance and Accounting is seeking an experienced Accountant to join our client in Sparks, Nevada. In this long-term contract role, you will play a key part in managing accounting operations and ensuring compliance with financial standards. This position offers the opportunity to work in the dynamic construction industry while applying your expertise in accounting practices.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the month-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.

• Manage and reconcile the general ledger to maintain financial accuracy.

• Prepare and post journal entries, reviewing for completeness and accuracy.

• Conduct detailed account reconciliations to ensure proper documentation and compliance.

• Perform bank reconciliations to align internal records with external statements.

• Support audit processes by preparing necessary documentation and responding to inquiries.

• Handle trust tax returns, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

• Administer the Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) in accordance with company policies and standards.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting roles, demonstrating expertise in relevant tasks.
• Proficiency in month-end close procedures and general ledger management.
• Strong knowledge of journal entry preparation and account reconciliation processes.
• Experience conducting bank reconciliations and supporting audit functions.
• Familiarity with trust tax return preparation and related compliance requirements.
• Knowledge of Employee Stock Ownership Plans (ESOP) and their administration.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong communication abilities to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
