Job Overview
The EHS Technician supports the EHS Manage in implementing and maintaining our organization's Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs. This includes conducting inspections and audits, developing and implementing safety procedures and training, and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations as well as support incident investigations and collaborate with various departments to promote a safe and healthy work environment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage the project safety committee; maintain minutes and status report for safety and other meetings and events.
- Interact and communicate with owner and subcontractor safety personnel.
- Ability to write and implement written site safety management plan.
- Provide leadership and establish a safety culture within the plant.
- Conduct audits of the project site to verify compliance and identify unsafe conditions.
- Conducting training sessions to educate employees on safety procedures and regulations.
- Maintain documentation necessary to comply with the site Safety Management Plan, OSHA and other applicable regulations.
- Supporting incident investigations and root cause analyses to prevent future occurrences.
- Collaborating with departments to provide EHS guidance and support in the development of policies and procedures.
- Support current EHS Manger with all monthly compliance inspections.
Qualifications / Requirements

REQUIRED
- Ability to read and understand measurements and tolerances using tape measures and micrometers.
- Ability to use ladders, lifts, cranes, hand/power tools, and painting equipment.
- Ability to work safely, always maintain PPE standards, and to identify potential hazards.
- Ability to work independently and effectively in a team environment, sharing knowledge to assist with improving the skillsets of co-workers.
- Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written) with all levels of the organization.
- Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Ability to adapt to changing work situations and instructions.
- Strong ethical standards, reliability, professionalism, positive attitude, and ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
- Ability to gather facts and analyze data depth.
PREFERRED
- Ability to read, understand, and follow blueprints, manuals, schematics, templates, and instructions.
- Previous education and training in leadership principles.
- Previous experience leading small teams in a heavy manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of and experience in industrial processes such as fabrication, welding, painting, etc.
- Experience in the heavy equipment industry, specifically attachments.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, climb, sit, crouch, and kneel for moderate to extended periods of time.
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Must be able to work in an environment that is heavily affected by seasonal temperature changes.
