Responsibilities
- Forecast goals and objectives for the department
- Hire, train, motivate and monitor the performance of service department staff
- Monitor and control performance of department using appropriate reports, tracking systems and surveys
- Prepare and administer an annual operating budget for the service department
- Maintain reporting systems required by upper management and the factory
- Develop and execute a marketing plan to promote new and repeat business
- Establish and maintain good working relationships with customers to encourage repeat and referral business
- Attend managers meetings
- Facilitate and/or conduct technical training and/or send employees to related training schools and webinars, as needed
- Establish and maintain good working relationships with vocational/technical schools to enhance personnel recruitment
- Monitor technicians' daily productivity reports and corresponding payroll records
- Monitor and follow up with parts manager on parts orders to ensure availability
- Take ownership of the customer's experience and provide concierge support for all owner's inquiries
- Remain up to date on federal, state and local regulations that affect operations such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA, etc.
- Maintain a safe work environment
- Keep up to date on new equipment and tools available and recommend purchases for department
- Ensure proper care, storage and inventory of special tools
- Serve as liaison with factory representatives
- Establish and maintain 24-hour follow-up with all customers to confirm satisfaction with service experience
- Handles customer complaints
- Maintain CSI at or above region
